Hello everybody. As you may or may not know, today is good Friday. And as you may or may not know, I am a Christian. I'm here to talk to you about WHY good Friday is good. People are like 'wait, if Jesus was crucified on good Friday, why is it good?' It's because Jesus DIED, AND NOT JUST THAT, BUT WAS TORTURED, WHIPPED, AND STABBED for our sins. God was going to give that type of punishment to us, and Jesus took it off of us. He carried ALL of EVERYONES SINS, even the people in the past and people that are to come, EVERYONE WHO WILL EXIST AND DID EXIST's SINS. That is a lot. And think about it. People do many sins in their life. So that's (#of sins in life) x (# of people to live and will ever live) on Jesus' back.
Pilate asked the crowd, DO YOU WANT BARABBAS, A THIEF, MURDERER, PERSON WHOO INFLICTS PAIN UPON OTHERS, OR JESUS, SON OF GOD, HEALER OF CRIPPLED??! And the crowd says, WE WANT BARABBAS!! I never thought too much about Barabbas, until my bible teacher showed me this video. It said that WE are Barabbas, and Jesus took the pain from us. Barabbas was freed from his death sentence on the cross, and Jesus took the ordeal for him. We are Barabbas, because Jesus took our sins away from us, and we were freed but he was sacrificed. And Barabbas is in the crowd, not caring about Jesus. Pilate then had Jesus flogged (imagine getting hit really really hard with like a broomstick) and put a robe of purple on him. They mocked him, all hail king of the Jews. They then nailed his hands and feet to the cross. Then Jesus began to sing. He sang a song God, his Father, made for him, to assure him that he is there.
The last words to the song was 'it has been done' and with that Jesus died, and took away our sins.
"For God sent his line and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
Sorry for posting up such a sad journal, but I wanted everyone to know why Good Friday was good.
